Under what category would you enter hardware serial numbers, such as an Apple Watch or an iMac?

As the subject says, if I wanted to enter hardware serial numbers, under what 1 Password category should enter it?

    Hi @MACximize,

Since this data isn't terribly secure, use Secure Notes for this. Add custom fields if you want to, or just use the Notes area, adding : pairs as needed. Ex:

    Macbook Pro Serial: 9999484757543

It makes for easy copying and pasting of blocks of data from other apps already formatted this way:

    Model Name: iMac
    Model Identifier: iMac13,2
    Processor Name: Intel Core i7
    Processor Speed: 3.4 GHz
    Number of Processors: 1
    Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
    L3 Cache: 8 MB
    Memory: 16 GB
    Boot ROM Version: IM131.010A.B05
    SMC Version (system): 2.11f14

    Hi @MACximize,

I added all sorts of details about my Macs to Server items although that would seem an odd place for an Apple Watch (which I don't own).

With the exception of Login, Credit Card and Identity items though (which work with the browser extensions for filling), you're pretty much free to place your information wherever works for you. All the items support custom fields so as long as the organisational scheme makes sense to you then it's a good one. Obviously that isn't to say you can't ask for inspiration but just there isn't a right or wrong answer. I can see the appeal of a Secure Note as it's a general enough category. Then your decision becomes what works best for you, is it an item per Secure Note and maybe use of tags to groups them or a single Secure Note for all of your serial numbers. Again, it's what works best for you.

If you have any follow up questions don't hesitate to ask
