1Password 5 OS X - Can't enable auto submit after fill - "Select Script Folder"
Hi there. Long time 1P user. New issue I can't seem to find anything about online!
I noticed that when I autofill logins in Safari using CMD+\ that they are filled, but not auto submitted. I check 1password's preferences, and "auto submit logins after fill" is not checked. Attempting to check it brings up a dialogue asking "Please select the User > Library > Application Scripts > (longstring).com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper folder".
Obviously, this is tricky to do because you CAN'T browse to the user library natively under OS X anymore, and attempting to enable hidden folders apparently doesn't populate through to this dialogue box.
Sooo.... what to do???
Any ideas are welcome!!!
Thx

Hi @crozlo,
That's puzzling, no matter what I try, when I reach that dialog window it always has the correct folder in focus and all I need to do is click on the Select Script Folder button. Here's an example of what I mean.
That's after I've deleted the
2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper
completely. Now if that isn't happening for you there are a couple of ways to point it to the right folder.
Option 1.
- Open a Finder window
- Select your home folder from the sidebar.
- Use the keyboard shortcut
⌘J
to bring up the View Options. - Tick the bottom option, Show Library Folder.
- Reboot your Mac.
- You should find that the Library folder is now visible even from the Open window in 1Password.
If that doesn't work though there is always
Option 2.
- Open a Finder window
- Use the keyboard shortcut
⇧⌘G
to open the Go to Folder... window. - Paste in the following path
~/Library/Application Scripts/
and click on the Go button. - Move that Finder window to one side and go through the steps in 1Password to bring up the window from above.
- Drag that window to the other side.
- Return to the Finder window.
- You should find the Open window has disappeared but if you use Mission Control (four finger swipe up on a Macbook or the
F3
key) you should see the window again under 1Password mini. Select it and you can have it where you can see the Finder window to one side and the Open to the other. You may have to adjust the positioning a bit to get this to work. - There's a trick where you can click and drag a folder in a Finder window without that window being in focus. This trick means you can drag and drop the
2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper
over the small drop down menu to the immediate left of the search bar in the Open window. See the screenshot below with the highlighting. If you drag the2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper
folder over that and release it will bring focus to the path of that folder (pretty neat eh?).
In both cases, clicking the Select Script Folder button will install the script and normality should return.
If you have any troubles do please let us know.
