Unable to reinstall on iMac after reinstalling Yosemite.
I've reinstalled Yosemite on my iMac and cannot use Wifi sync to send the 1Password data from my iPad back to the iMac. I'm at the 'Where is your data' screen' and have selected 'Another device.' However then selecting 'More information' just sends me to a web page that describes what I've just done. Alternatively selecting Wifi Server from Preferences does not help as it is completely greyed out. Any advice? Thanks.

Hi @erichuw,
We have a paradoxical situation where you can set up 1Password for iOS as an existing user via Wi-Fi Sync but not the other way around, at least not from the screen that you're currently on.
You have two options. We can use iTunes to pull a backup of your iOS vault from your iOS device and use that to kick start 1Password for Mac or you can also create a brand new vault, preferably using the same Master Password and then set up Wi-Fi Sync (which will be accessible once the vault is unlocked). What will happen is as the Mac's vault is empty the entire contents of your iOS vault will be copied over.
If you're interested in the iTunes suggestion then this should be what you need.
- Our page, Creating and restoring 1Password backups in iTunes (iOS), will show you how to copy a backup vault from your iOS device to your Mac via iTunes.
- With that backup, you can then follow our Finding existing 1Password data during setup guide, pointing 1Password to the backup file that ends in
.1p4_zip
.
If you prefer the other approach but would like more detail in the steps just ask and we'll do our best to help
Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for your reply. I stumbled across the solution earlier this afternoon - the option of creating a brand new vault as you suggest. All's well now.

Sorry we didn't get to your query in time but always good to hear things are working as they should @erichuw.
As this seems to be resolved I'm going to close this thread but if you have any questions or issues in the future don't hesitate to post!
