How do I find Primary Vault and transfer to new Mac Air?

Firstly, I know questions like this have been asked before, and I have read them however am no wiser. So I apologise in advance for asking what may in fact be obvious.

I have 1Password 5 on a MacBook Air. I understand the passwords are stored in a 'primary vault' somewhere on my hard drive.

I have purchased a new MacBook Air and installed 1Password 5 on that, including my licence key.

Can someone please explain to me in very simple steps how to locate the primary vault. In my 'Application Support' '1Password 4' 'Data' folder I have 3 '.sqlite' files. I cannot see anything that sounds like 'vault' or 'keychain', (that is referred to in other posts)

Can I then simply copy the file and transfer to the new Mac -- or does it have to be copied in a particular way?

Then, how do I install it in the the Mac -- where will the new version of 1 Password 5 be searching for its primary vault, and how do I overwrite that with the transferred file?

    Hi @aph,

    Assuming you haven't launched 1Password on the new Mac yet then there is a simple way. If you copy the entire 1Password 4 folder across it contains all of your backups and your vault. When you first launch 1Password it will find everything and continue from where you left off on the old Mac.

    Just to let you know, the OnePassword.sqlite file is the local copy of your vault(s). The other files are undoubtedly important although I haven't looked into precisely what they are.

    If you've already launched 1Password on the new Mac then what I would suggest is launching 1Password and then quitting it using the keyboard shortcut ⌃⌘Q. That will ensure 1Password mini isn't running and safely allow you to follow the above steps. What you don't want to be doing is anything with the OnePassword.sqlite file when 1Password mini is running.
