1password backup/restore
Hi.
I've been using 1password (ver. 5) on my iPad and decided to try it out on my Mac as well. My Mac is running Mavericks at the moment, so it can only run 1password ver. 4 (as far as i know). Is there a way to "restore" the information on my iPad to my Mac (and vice versa for that matter)?
tl;dr : Is there a way to backup a ver. 4 app from a ver. 5 backup?
Thanks for any responses :)
1Password Version: 5.4.2 & 4.4.3
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Mavericks & iOS 8.3

One way is to sync your data with Dropbox. That will allow versions 4 and 5 to stay current with each other.

I have tried that, but the ver. 4 app doesn't seem to accept the backup (unable to choose the backup file as the "add backup"-file.

Hi @kjetisg,
I'm sorry for the confusion here - I believe hawkmoth was suggesting you use the Dropbox sync option instead of trying to use a backup file. Dropbox will automatically keep your 1Password data in sync between your Mac and iPad, so that may be a better solution for you (i.e. restoring from a backup will transfer the data once, but any further changes you make to 1Password on your iPad won't sync to your Mac, or vice versa).
Having said that, 1Password 4 and 5 use the same backup format, so you should definitely be able to use a backup from 1Password 5 for iOS to restore your data to 1Password 4 for Mac. But if you'd like to keep your data synced between your Mac and iPad, you'll need to use Dropbox sync.
Does that help? If you just want to do a backup/restore instead of syncing your data back & forth, please let us know and we'll be happy to help you with that. Thanks!

It didn't, for some reason, show the Dropbox sync. option as I mistakenly chose iCloud on startup. Reinstalled the app and chose Dropbox, and now everything works fine :)
