I would like to discontinue using Dropbox and move my Keychain from Dropbox to Mac. How do I do this?

    Hi @ericraiter,

Thanks for contacting us with your sync question. Just to clarify, are you wanting to switch from Dropbox Sync to iCloud Sync? Or do you want to stop syncing altogether, and just keep your data locally on the Mac computer?

    Locally on the Mac

Thanks for clarifying, @ericraiter. The good news is, 1Password 5 for Mac already stores your data locally on your Mac, and the 1Password.agilekeychain file in Dropbox is just a copy used for cloud syncing with other devices.

I'd recommend making a backup first just in case, but you can just delete the 1Password folder in your Dropbox and your local vault will still be there, untouched. (Note, I don't think you're using Windows, but just as a disclaimer for anyone else who might be reading this, 1Password for Windows uses the Dropbox keychain as the actual vault and doesn't store data locally by default, so Windows users should be careful with this.)

Are there any other computers or devices you want to sync your 1Password data with? If you're looking for a cloud-free sync option, you may want to look into Folder Sync or Wi-Fi Sync.

I hope this answers your question! Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. :)
