...but I already bought it. Why is it asking me this and how do I remedy it? Many thanks.

I've found a purchase record from 2012 which I believe would have meant 1Password 3 for Mac. Now 1Password 4 was a paid upgrade over 1Password 3 and 1Password 5 is a free upgrade to anybody with a 1Password 4 licence.
That would suggest a couple of possibilities.
- Have you purchased a 1Password 4/5 licence from us but using a different email address at all? It could be you have - I'm limited to searching the email address you've registered here in the forums.
- Is it possible you purchased 1Password 4/5 from Apple's Mac App Store? Apple do not pass on any information over the purchases. If you purchased in their store the purchase is tied to your Apple ID and allows you to download 1Password (Mac App Store) from their App Store application on your Mac.
If you know you haven't purchased 1Password 4/5 at any point from either store then there are two options.
- You could return to 1Password 3 for Mac. You still have a licence to run that version.
- You could purchase a 1Password 5 licence either from our store or from Apple's Mac App Store. The aspects to consider are; iCloud Sync only works in applications obtained from an Apple Store. This doesn't affect 1Password for iOS as you can only obtain iOS apps from Apple but it is relevant to the Mac version. If iCloud Sync is important you would want to purchase from Apple's Mac App Store. If iCloud Sync isn't important to you then you could use your 1Password 3 licence key to obtain a discounted upgrade price from our store. This is something we can't do in Apple's stores as the feature doesn't exist there.

why does my 1password on my MAC keep insisting my trial has expired when the user key is right there in the stored information in 1password??
