I upgraded 1Password and Now it Won't Open

I have 1password for Mac. I received a notice today to upgrade, and after doing so the 1password icon has a question mark on it and it won't open

Hi @drodgers,

I'm sorry you're having a bit of trouble after upgrading!

It sounds like you're describing the 1Password icon in the Dock on your Mac. That's not the actual 1Password app, it's just a shortcut to it. If you have a shortcut to the 1Password 4 app in the Dock, it won't work after updating to version 5. This is because we renamed the app file from 1Password 4.app to 1Password 5.app. The shortcut was saved with the path to 1Password 4.app and therefore doesn't work with the new app.

You should be able to find 1Password 5.app in the Applications folder. Simply drag it from there into the Dock to add a new (working) shortcut. You can also drag the old shortcut for version 4 out of the Dock to remove it.
