I unfortunately updated to 1Password5
After updating my mac to 1Password5, I, to my disgust, learned of the lack of iCloud sync. The attempts to follow the support site directions on how to sync via wi-fi have resulted in failure, both on my iPad and iPhone. All three devices have current software. Both give the same "timed out" error. (Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomainCode=60).
How do we fix this so at least wi-fi sync works.
Note: The fact that I have to write this is best described as "infuriating".

Sorry, I'm not experienced in wi-fi sync, and will have to leave that to the AgileBits people.
Are you opposed to Dropbox sync for some reason? It works as well as iCloud sync, if not better, is as secure (and is used by many AgileBits staff), and can be used in all versions of 1PW.
Unfortunately Apple's restrictions prevent iCloud sync being used on apps not sold through their App Stores.
By the way, failing to state your operating system and saying you have the "current version" of 1PW rather than being specific do make replying difficult. The current version is 5 (in fact 5.3.2) if you are running Yosemite, but only 4 if you are still on Mavericks. And we don't know what versions of iPhone and iPad and their operating systems you have.

Hi @dan1911,
If you're running 1Password 5 that means you're running some version of Yosemite. That may or may not mean you have moved from iCloud to iCloud Drive. You haven't specified what version of 1Password for iOS you're running but it's similar there too.
We didn't ever want there to be a feature disparity between the AgileBits Store and Mac App Store version of 1Password for Mac but hindsight doesn't help you or us in this matter. If you haven't moved to iCloud Drive and you still have 1Password 4 for iOS then you can simply return to 1Password 4 for Mac if you wish and continue using the old iCloud Sync. If you have upgraded to 1Password 5 for iOS or made the migration to iCloud Drive then there is no combination that will work. The references to 1Password for iOS are because there is no easy way to revert to an older version of an iOS app - that is simply Apple's policy.
Now to addressing the issue with Wi-Fi Sync. Do you have any active software firewall, third party or the supplied one? The first thing to try is to temporarily disable any firewall and see if syncing succeeds. Now we're not suggesting for a moment that you leave a firewall disabled, instead if we identify that the firewall is blocking the communication we can work on ensuring 1Password is allowed to bypass the firewall.
Please let us know if that helps or not. If it does we'll help configure the firewall once we know which one you're using and if it doesn't help we will explore other possibilities.

I changed the firewall settings, and I think it synced. Thanks for the tip. If I don't like the wi-fi, maybe I'll try DropBox.

Hi @dan1911,
The easiest way to confirm if syncing is working is probably via a test item on either device. If you see it sync then it sounds good. I'm probably being paranoid but when you say changed firewall settings I take it you merely needed to adjust something to ensure 1Password could communicate rather than disable. I just wouldn't want to see your Mac be at risk because of any troubleshooting we've been doing.

And I need to apologise for not noticing that you had said you were using 1PW5.
