Howdy everyone
I could use some help. Our family are all mac (don't hold that against me). We have MacBooks, Airs, iMacs iPhones, iPads, etc etc etc what do I do to look after all of them? Do I need to buy 1password for each device or can I buy a family bundle etc.
I have downloaded the free trial but I want to get everything up and running now and could use some direction.
thanks for your help
James

I saw the video say that I can use the one application to protect all of my devices but then I watched another video saying that I need to download the app from the app store not the website if I want to use iCloud. It is all a little confusing LOL

@james_hannan: The Mac question has an easy answer: since we license our software on a per-platform basis, a single 1Password for Mac license entitles you (and up to 5 other family members in the same household) to use 1Password on all of your Macs!

If you need iCloud, you will need to purchase 1Password from the Mac App Store, and the only difference there will be you'll have to either use a single Apple ID or set up Family Sharing to share the purchase amongst yourselves. 1Password from the AgileBits Store cannot use iCloud (but you can use Dropbox Sync), and you'll simply have a license key that you use to resister it on all of your Macs.

Finally, 1Password for iOS is a free app that you can use on iPhones or iPads, with an in-app purchase for Pro Features (please note that Apple does not support Family Sharing for in-app purchases).

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

Thanks @brenty thats awesome, I just purchased it :) now does that mean that everyone will have access to each others passwords etc and what are the benefits of the pro features on the iPhone/ipad apps?
thanks again for all your help :)

@james_hannan: Oh, fantastic question! 1Password, by default, is completely stand-alone, in the sense that your data is only sync'd or shared if you choose to.

So each family member can have their own copy of 1Password with their own personal vaults. Unless you already know you want to do otherwise (for instance having a vault shared with your significant other), I'd suggest that this is a good way to start.

You can, however, share individual items (a one-time thing), or entire vaults on an ongoing basis. You can also sync your own data between different devices to effectively have the same vault wherever you like.

Personally since it's just my wife and me, we have a single vault we sync using Dropbox between all of our devices to share, and then I have a second vault for "work stuff". Ultimately what works best for you depends on your particular needs, but I hope this gives you a good overview and maybe a few ideas. Let me know if you have any questions! :)
