License issue on my new mac
I bought 1Password in 2011 and have been updating ever since. I now have a trial ended message on my newest computer. Do I need to buy again? I have the license number email but no license file that allows me to update.I have 3 macs (work, home, laptop) and 3 other IOS devices all using 1password. I don't think I am having this issue on any other Mac than my newest one. It's also the only one using Yosemite.10.10.3.1
1Password Version: 5.3.2

Hi @Julie_Stout,
Thanks for contacting us here with your license question. I see that you have a Mac & Windows Bundle license from 2011 which includes 1Password 3 for Mac and 1Password (version 1) for Windows.
1Password 5 is our latest release for Mac, which is only compatible with OS X Yosemite. It's a free upgrade from 1Password 4, but it would require a new license purchase if your latest existing license is for version 3.
You said you have been updating since 2011; do you have 1Password 4 running on any other Macs? Here's how to tell what version is running.
If so, is it licensed? Here's how to tell if it's licensed. If it turns out you haven't paid for version 4 or 5 yet, you can use your license key code for version 3 to get a discounted license from our upgrade store.
I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions and we'll be happy to address them. :)

Ok, so I bought 1Password4 in sept 2014 through the App store. So now how to go into my new Mac that has Yosemite and apply the license from 1Password4? I don't see it there anywhere.

Purchases from the App Store don't have licenses, they are tied to the Apple ID.
So I think all you have to do is to log in to the App Store with the same Apple ID, and 1PW should show up in your purchases as available for download.

Hi @Julie_Stout,
As danco has mentioned, applications purchased through one of Apple's stores don't have the more traditional licences that smaller companies often employee (like us). As they build OS X and iOS they built authentication into the operating system and connect the purchases to your Apple ID. So if you were to log into the App Store application on your Mac using the same Apple ID you should find 1Password for Mac in your Purchases tab. Now we have no control over any aspect of this as Apple don't even tell us you've purchased 1Password.
If you successfully download the Mac App Store version of 1Password for Mac you will find you have two copies of 1Password in your
/Applications/
folder. One will be titled 1Password and that's the MAS version. The other one will be titled 1Password 5 and that's our AgileBits Store version. You will want to move the 1Password 5 application to your Trash to avoid confusion and other issues later. When you first launch the 1Password application it will pick up your vault from where 1Password 5 stored it and migrate it over. I believe you will have to set up synchronisation once more but hopefully that won't be an issue. If you have any troubles at all please do post back here and we'll do our best to answer
