Many logins makes drop-down menu too long
Is there a way to create "titled folders" of logins on the 1P-mini drop down menu.
As it is now, I have to scroll down a too-long alphabetized list.
I'm familiar with "favorites", but that's not really what I want.
In order to shorten the menu list, I'd like to create menu items of named folders with logins grouped according to type (banks / stores / social / etc.)
Is there a way to do this ??

Hi @Lamplighter,
There isn't a way to have a hierarchical menu system for Login items but there may be one or two alternatives that you might find acceptable. We have Folders and Tags, both of which are visible in 1Password mini if they exist. I tend to find tags feel more useful in 1Password but they are a flat system whilst folders can be arranged inside each other like you would folders on a filesystem.
The other possibility is use of the search field. Whenever you bring up 1Password mini you can start typing and it's directed to the search field. Typically I only need 3/4 characters before the results are narrowed down to what I was looking for and you may find the same applies to you as well.
Could either of those help?

Thanks LBT, I'm using the tags for some other items so I think I know whereof you speak.
My main issue with tags is remembering to add them as I create new logins, and it's a bit tedious to go back and fix them.
So, I think I'll play around with the folders, and see if they are any better for what I'm wanting. Thanks for jogging my memory...

Hi @Lamplighter,
There is one neat feature in relation to tags that you might like. You don't have to edit an item to add a tag, you can also simply drag an item from the Item List pane onto a tag in the Sidebar and it will add the tag for you. You can also do this using selections of items in the Item List pane and you can select items just like you would in a Finder window e.g. using the shift key to select a group or the cmd key for adding or removing single items from a selection. I find that makes the tags a lot more friendly when you discover that. Hopefully you find something that works for you though and do let us know how you get along

Your most recent comment above saves my day !
I had occasionally used the "tags" menu item in the 1P-Mini, but with the tags I was using it didn't helping me that much.
I did not know about the drag-n-drop feature of adding tags to multiple logins.
I did a bit of testing and found the additions just as you described, and it is exactly what I needed/wanted.The 1P-Mini hierarchical menu lets me see a group of items that is so much shorter, and I didn't have to gerry-rigged a whole new system inside 1P
I agree it's a flat file method, but for now shortening the list of logins is so much better than scrolling and scolling and ...Thank you so much..

Glad we could help @Lamplighter and yeah, that dragging to a tags name is much easier method of using tags
I should see if we've done a news letter on that...

littlebobbytables, is there a newsletter on this? It seems like a better way for me to go at this point and I'd like to understand it a little bit better before i screw things up again. Thx!
