Error Message When Opening 1P

I am running 1Password 5 Version 5.3.2 (532001) on a Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3 (14D136). In the last couple days I started getting the following error message everytime I open 1P. "1Password Sync, Problem detected, Update Preferences." I checked "Preferences" but I can't see anything out of the ordinary. I sync my vaults with Dropbox and I have four different vaults. I get the same error message when I open any of the four vaults. I also run 1P on two PC laptops, iPhone, and iPad but the error message on shows up on my Mac. I checked the knowledge base but did not come across the same error message. I hope somebody has seen this message before and can give me some pointers. All suggestions and/or solutions are gratefully received. Many thanks in advance!

    Hi @Denni,

Now I've seen that message before but only if I'm jumping between 1Password 4 and 5 for testing purposes. They both access the same files, including the preference files and we must be storing these preferences slightly differently in the two versions.

One oddity though is I have two buttons on the right hand side of my notification, Ignore & Fix...

So the first thing I would check for is the existence of more than one copy of 1Password for Mac on your system. If there was a copy of 1Password 4 accessible it might be the old 1Password mini is running and presenting that error. Places to check include your Downloads folder, your Desktop and any external drives you keep permanently connected that you might use for backups. You might find the quickest way to check everywhere is using Spotlight.

If you do find an old copy of 1Password for Mac I think moving that to your Trash and rebooting your Mac should resolve the issue. Please do keep us updated either way though as if that isn't the cause we'll continue working with you to figure it out
