I primarily use Mac for my personal and most of my work stuff. However I do boot to windows and also have a windows rendering machine running. I've started using 1password about 6 months ago and I love it. Now that my windows life has started to ramp up I need to figure out how to share it between the two OS's with out breaking the iOS ones that I also have linked to 1password

  • Hi @dieseltwitch,

The easiest option is Dropbox, that'll sync to all three platforms without any efforts. If you want to switch to Dropbox, this guide will help: https://support.1password.com/switch-to-dropbox/mac.html

If you don't want to use Dropbox, do you use any local sync tool to sync your data between Mac and Windows? Something like BitTorrent Sync. You could use a local sync tool to sync between the computers while using Wi-Fi to push the data to your iPhone.

I do use BT Sync. But how Do i move it to BT sync with out breaking the Vaults on the iphone and pads?

  • Like my colleague Mike said, you don't have to change anything about the Wi-Fi sync setup. Just keep syncing the iOS devices with 1Password 5 for Mac.

Wi-Fi sync works separate from the other sync methods on the Mac and PC: https://support.1password.com/guides/mac/sync-wi-fi.html

In 1Password 5 for Mac, you can simply set the syncing method to folder sync and point it at the shared Bittorrent Sync folder: https://support.1password.com/guides/mac/sync-folder.html

In 1Password 4 for Windows you just have to point 1Password to the new location to make it work.

    I hope that helps.
