New install - vault null and cannot set any preferences

I purchased 1Password 5 and have it working and installed at work on couple macs.

At home, I installed legacy version 4 on OS 10.9.5. I went to the original email to get the license and connected it.

I tried to set up sync but all of the options are greyed out and prompts me to 'unlock' the software and that there is 'no vault'.

In browser extension it shows "(null) no vault"

How do I get it connected to the passwords I saved at work?

Hi @makason,

I'm sorry you're having trouble setting up 1Password on a different Mac!

It sounds like you opened the Preferences window in 1Password before going through the setup. When you open 1Password for the first time, it should look for existing data, and if none is found, it'll ask if you're new to 1Password or if you've used it before. In that case you would want to choose "I've used 1Password before" and then you should have the option to sync your existing vault (for example, if you sync via Dropbox, you would choose the Dropbox option).

Can you confirm if you've gone through the setup in 1Password on that Mac? Also, which sync method do you use for 1Password on your Macs at work?

Your right - the tour window got lost and I didn't complete the setup. I've gone through now and all is working fine.
