WiFi Sync still does not auto-sync
Has auto WiFi sync been enabled? I can't quite tell from the last few posts of this thread. I have a colleague who says auto sync works for him on 5.3 for Mac. He just opens both apps and it syncs.
If WiFi Sync is not yet done automatically, is there any way the sync option could be moved up in the options? Should not take 7 steps to initiate once opening the application. Drives me crazy.
Thank you

Wifi between 1P5 for Mac and 1P5 for iOS is entirely automatic when 1P is unlocked on both Mac and iOS device. Please tell us:
- What version of 1P for Mac you are using
- What version of 1Password for iOS you are using
- The somewhat mysterious "7 steps" you have to take. :)

Thanks Stephen. Using 1PW 5.3 for Mac (530029) from the app store and 5.4.2 for IOS.
Open 1Password on both OS X and IOS
Steps on iOS:
0-Unlock app
1-Settings
2-Sync
3-Start Syncing
4-Sync using Wi-Fi
5-Select desktop
Note: has not synced since done manually last time
6-Sync Nowthen back out using the following sequence if needing to return to the same spot:
Wi-Fi Sync
Cancel
Sync
SettingsOr selecting the button bar shortcut
How do I know if it's synching automatically?

How do I know if it's synching automatically?
When you open 1P on an iOS device (if it's already unlocked on the Mac) and go to the Settings > Synch screen you will see when it last synch'd (which, in that case, should be within the last few seconds). If it's not working try re-booting both devices: that's what usually solves any glitch for me.

Tried restarting both devices to no avail. But to honest, auto sync has never worked since reimplemented by Agilebits.
Perhaps I have a different version of the app? I have to go to "Settings", "Sync", "Primary Vault/Start Syncing", "Sync using Wi-Fi", [Mac computer name], before I see the dialogue on what I've synced with and when.

Hi @tseager,
If you're using version 5.3 on your Mac and version 5.4.2 on your iOS device, automatic Wi-Fi sync should work. One thing I wanted to ask (as I don't think you mentioned it) is, do you have the 1Password app open (and unlocked) on both your Mac and iOS device? The apps need to be open in order for that to work.
Assuming you have both apps open when you want the sync to work, then it sounds like the Wi-Fi sync setup is not being completed on your iOS device. The reason I say that is because you mentioned you need to go to Settings > Sync > Start Syncing each time in the iOS app. However, once the Wi-Fi sync setup is complete, you should no longer see "Start Syncing" in the sync settings. Instead, it should say that the Sync Service is Wi-Fi. So I think something is going wrong during the setup.
The first thing I'd suggest is to make sure you're following the steps to set up Wi-Fi sync in this knowledgebase article. It sounds like those are basically the steps you're following, but you mentioned that after you start syncing, you tap "Cancel". I might be misunderstanding what you mean, but it sounds like you cancel the Wi-Fi sync setup. When you go through the setup, does the sync complete? Does the "Secret" from your Mac still appear during the setup, and does it match what you see in the Wi-Fi Server settings in 1Password on your Mac?
Let us know how it all goes, and we'll continue from there. Thanks!

Thanks Drew. Although I followed your directions, everything seemed setup correctly.
But your response prompted me to think that perhaps I'd better set it all up again.
I deleted the app and re-synced my data. Was simple enough to setup and walk through.
Oddly, the menu options starting at "settings" "sync" were quite different this time. Menus and displays are in a different order on nearly every page I browse through.
I can see what Stephen was saying in his last post, his description now matches what I can see on screen.
Not much else looks different, except the sync settings.
Better yet, I open the app and it's syncing as expected.
Thank you both for your help!
