can't save license file
Hi, copied 1PW to new mac and received licence file via email. Email doesn't allow to save it but says to copy it. However there is not option tom copy it in preferences but preferences asks for a file.

What happens if you click on the link at the bottom of the licence attached to the email, which says Click here to Apply Your 1Password License?

If you have a key rather than a licence file it would suggest you're looking at a licence for 1Password 3. Whatever email address you used at the time of purchase it wouldn't seem to be the one you use here in the forums so I wasn't able to confirm this for you.
Now 1Password 4 was a paid upgrade over 1Password 3 so a 1Password 3 licence key won't work. It also won't work as at the same time we moved from a licence key to a file and the two licence approaches are quite incompatible.
Now you can use your existing licence key to obtain a 1Password 5 licence at a discounted price if you want from our AgileBits Store.
It might be worth noting that if iCloud Sync in iOS 8 and Yosemite is important to you that this is only available in the Mac App Store version of 1Password for Mac. Now it might be you have purchased a 1Password 4/5 licence already and if you have then it is still valid and we need to find out why you can't locate it. Normally all licences associated with a particular email address are sent in a single email but there can be situations where this isn't the case e.g. different email addresses used for the different purchases or a significant enough difference in how the name is presented. Either way if this applies we'll help you sort it out. The first thing to do is identify if you believe you've purchased an upgrade licence in the past or if you have just a 1Password 3 licence at the moment.

Hi and thanks for the detailed response. I have purchased a licence for 4/5 and use always the same email address. I dont use iCloud synch but dropbox. Hope this information helps you.

Can you email us please at support+licenses@agilebits.com with the following details:
- Your full name as you would have used at the time of purchase.
- The email address used for the purchase.
As I say, I've checked our records for the email address you're using here in the forums and it's finding nothing. It could be we have two records and just the old one is being sent if you don't see a link like the one Stephen_C described (Click here to Apply Your 1Password License). If that is the case we'll merge the two and that should resolve the issue.
