A new computer
Hi, I am currently using Dropbox to sync my data across multiple devices. I wish to know if I am setting up on a new computer, and assuming my Dropbox account password is managed by 1Password, how should I go about doing the setup? Because even if I install 1Password and Dropbox on the new computer, I can't access my Dropbox password because my 1Password data can't be fetched, as I'm not logged in to Dropbox. Please advise. Thanks.

Well, you could simply write down your Dropbox password before setting up the new machine (then burn the piece of paper afterwards :) ). However, if you're syncing your 1P data between various devices, as you say, you'd always be able to retrieve the Dropbox password from one of those devices and (no doubt rather laboriously) type it in on the new machine.
Generally, a Dropbox password (and your own 1P master password) is a case where some memorable Diceware password is helpful, of course.

Hi @andre_reich,
If you have two Macs on the same network and you need to get one of those set up then my approach may help. To help set up a new Mac I like to enable Screen Sharing. You can find it in System Preferences > Sharing and it will allow you to control the new Mac from the old one and allow you to copy and paste something like your Dropbox or Apple ID password over easily from 1Password on the existing Mac to the new one while you work on getting 1Password available. After you're done you can turn Screen Sharing off again so you're not worried about any security implications.
Hopefully that or Stephen_C's suggestion will prove useful in some way
