It looks like you have added a custom image to an item. If you have then yes, the image displayed in the Item List pane would also display this custom image. Currently there is no way to add a custom image to only the Item Details pane.
However, you can attach any file you wish to an item as an attachment. So you could add an image in this way and it would not show in the Item List pane. Could this be what you want to do? Here is a link to our page on Attach a file, it might be what you are looking for.
