The 1Password extension button stopped working in Safari
Hello.
Tonight the 1Password button in my Safari toolbar simply ceased working. It was working fine this afternoon, and I've not updated or changed anything software-wise since then, but I cannot get it to work at all since waking my Mac this evening. The button is there in the Safari toolbar, but clicking on it does nothing whatever.
I am running OS X 10.10.3, and Safari 8.0.6. My 1Password version is 5.3 (530029) and the 1Password extension I have installed in Safari is shown as 4.3.1.
The 1Password icon in my Mac menu bar (1Password mini?) is working however, and it opens up the basic version of 1Password when I click it, but of course it doesn't go straight to the relevant login for the page I have open in Safari. My main 1Password app is also functional via it's coloured icon in Applications from my dock.
1Password Version: 5.3 (530029)
Extension Version: 4.3.1
OS Version: OS X 10.10.3
Sync Type: iCloud

Hi @kwoffa,
The first thing to try would be the following 1Password menu option, Help > Troubleshooting > Restart 1Password mini.
The next thing to try would be a full reboot of your Mac.
If still no joy then given you're running 1Password 5 we're safe to try removing the Safari extension completely and see what happens when you reinstall it.
I'd hope one of those helps so please let us know how you get along

Thanks Bobby.
Okay, the 1Password mini restart procedure made no difference whatever. (Although I've learned something there, because I never knew there was such a procedure within the help menu.)
But the full Mac restart solved the problem, and the extension is back working normally again. :)
Is it likely to happen again though?
Cheers.

Hi @kwoffa,
It's hard to say. It could be that the extension lost contact with 1Password mini during sleep and of course a full reboot would resolve this but restarting Safari may be sufficient too. If it happens again, make a note of if it occurred after a sleep (to see if there is a pattern) and if restarting Safari has any impact. It may turn out the full reboot is just the extreme way to handle it but at least it did inform us that it was a temporary glitch rather than something worse.

Restarting Safari definitely wasn't sufficient anyway. I tried that several times last night before I Posted my post, and it had no effect.
Thanks again.

Hopefully it won't happen again any time soon @kwoffa but if it is something you're seeing on some kind of semi-regular basis do please let us know and we can try something else.
