Avoiding having my username entered in a captcha field?
At my personal WordPress blog I have a captcha. So there are three entries: username, password and captcha.
My username and password are auto-filled from my browser, so what happens is that 1Password enters my username in the captcha field and then tries to login, resulting in an error.
What is the best way to avoid this problem?
Thanks,
doug

Hi @douglerner ,
You'll probably want to try filling in the entries, without the captcha filled, and save as a new entry. You'll also want to set the item's option to never auto submit the data. Then, you can have the username and password autofilled, leaving the captcha empty for manual filling, and then do a manual submit.

Thanks for your reply. The hint to not auto-submit was useful. It's nice to know that is possible on a per login basis.
I don't see how to save it as a new entry without the captcha filled though. Using the Safari extension it is currently not attempting to enter anything in the captcha. But using 1Password directly it is still filling in my username in the captch - just not auto-submitting.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi @douglerner,
Like MrC mentioned, saving a new login without the CAPTCHA filled might help: https://support.1password.com/save-login-manually/
And you will also need to change the submit setting to Never submit so that you can manually fill in the CAPTCHA:
Please let us know if that helps! :)

Hi Jasper,
As mention above, I did find the Never submit so it is not submitting now. That's ok.
I just can't quite figure out how to save it as a new login without the captcha or why 1Password is entering my username as the captcha value from the app, but not entering it from the browser extension.
Thanks,
doug

Figured it out. There are settings yet to explore in 1Password!
When editing the login, you can click on "show web form details".
There, I could see the username was in the captcha field. So I just deleted it from there and saved and it works fine now.

@douglerner - You can also keep fields from being filled by using the process to save the login manually, which you already know about. Just fill in everything but the captcha, then save as the instructions say. Your new record will have a blank in the captcha field, and you will then fill it in yourself before submitting.

For a minor edit altering the web form details can work, for anything more complex I'd recommend the manually saving of a new Login item as hawkmoth suggests just because so much is going on in the background.
