1Password is stuck at waiting for a new version when opening it.

1password was working fine, but started to get problem in opening it since day before yesterday. It get stuck with as DB saying, "Please wait while we check for a new version..."
I removed the program and re-installed. the result is still the same

  • @habibapm - please can you try this again as we changed some settings that might have caused this and reset them this morning.

    Hi @habibapm,

    It is possible your firewall is blocking the update checker. If you tried again now and it is still not working, please try this:

    1. While 1Password is closed, right-click on the 1Password.exe file in the Program Files (x86) > 1Password directory, select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)
    2. Go to your desktop, right-click on the 1Password shortcut to select Properties and go to the Shortcut tab > Target field, add -no-update at the end of ..."1Password.exe" and save the change.
    3. Double-click on the shortcut to open 1Password, it should not check for updates now.
