Migrating and reinstalling on a new Mac computer help! [Resolved]
Today, I will be migrating and reinstalling 1Password on my Mac since I will be formatting the drive with a clean install of Yosemite. What files do I need to backup for a seemless migration? I did an Export > All Items... which generated a .1pif file and copied "1Password" from the applications folder as well. What else do I need? Please let me know!
1Password Version: 1Password 4 Version 4.4.3 (443000) Agile Web Store
Extension Version: 4.4.3
OS Version: OS X 10.9.5
Sync Type: WiFi

Hi @rgudino,
First of all, I'd like to apologize for the delay in response. We've had a surge in support requests lately, and we're doing our best to get back to our usual snappy responses just as soon as possible.
Now, just as a warning - the .1pif file you have created is unencrypted, so once everything is said and done, you'll want to be sure to securely delete that file. You can also use 1Password's Folder Sync option to create an 1Password.agilekeychain file of your database. This file can be easily stored on a USB drive, and it's encrypted, so you won't have to be as careful with it.
1Password 4 (from the AgileBits Store) stores your datafile and backups here:
- Datafile: ~/Library/Application Support/1Password\ 4/Data/OnePassword.sqlite
- Backups: ~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/Backups
You'll want to copy both of those files onto your USB drive for after you've updated to Yosemite.
I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions or concerns, we're here for you. :)

Hi Roberto ( @rgudino ),
Again, I do apologize that my reply was tardy!
Now that you've got a fresh new install of your drive, let's work with that .1pif file:
- Download 1Password from our downloads page.
- When you open 1Password for the first time, set it up as a new user.
- (This might be a great time to update your Master Password if you might not have used a super secure one earlier! You can learn about strong and memorable Master Passwords in this blog post: Towards Better Master Passwords)
- Once you have your vault with your super secure Master Password, import that .1pif file.
- Confirm your data is all where you want it.
- Finally, securely delete the .1pif.
I've located your license details in our back office records and have sent you an email with the information to the address in your forum profile. Please let me know if you don't receive it!
This should get you all sorted out - please let me know if you have any questions. :)
