Installation on multiple computers in same household issue

I have the application installed on my IMAC, IPhone, and now trying to install on my laptop. I opened the app from the app store but the options takes me to a new user or that i used it before. However; the next screen is where I get stuck as I have tried to access from another device but it only gives you a user guide and can't seem to get beyond that. I bought not only the $49.99 app but also the pro features app for $9.99 and not sure how to fix this. What am I doing wrong? Right now I have it syncing with my internal wifi and not iCloud or dropbox. Is that an issue? How safe is using Dropbox or ICloud for syncing? Especially with all my passwords. In the process of converting everything over to this application as I have heard great reviews on the security of it. Help! Thanks

    Hi @notagain3333 ,

I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to you here but we experienced a surge in support requests recently. We're doing the best we can to get back to our usual speedy replies as soon as possible.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting 1Password set up on a second computer.

Right now I have it syncing with my internal wifi

Wi-Fi sync is great for keeping your iOS devices in sync with one Mac, but unfortunately it is not able to be used with multiple Macs.

We have a few options to get you synced up here. First of all, yes, I would recommend considering Dropbox or iCloud sync.

How safe is using Dropbox or ICloud for syncing? Especially with all my passwords.

We are very confident about storing 1Password data in the cloud, as your data file is encrypted with an exceedingly secure encryption algorithm called AES. Even if someone were to acquire a copy of your 1Password data file, it would be extremely difficult (approaching impossible in a human lifetime) for them to actually gain access to your passwords without your Master Password. In short, we believe it is just as secure as having the data on your laptop. To learn more about cloud data security, have a read through our Knowledgebase article on Cloud Security.

And you can see the thoughts behind our data format's design here.

Also, you can check out our blog for many more articles that go into the nitty gritty math behind what makes 1Password so secure.

If you decide to choose Dropbox or iCloud, our guides can help you set that up: Syncing your 1Password data. If you would choose to keep your data off the cloud, please have a look at Folder Sync, which can help you keep your data synced between your Macs, while continuing to use Wi-Fi with your iOS devices.

I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions or concerns. :)
