Suggestions for Tag Characters
Any advice on characters to avoid when creating tags? I use 1Password on both my Mac and iOS devices.
Of course, a tag like "Home" would be simpler, but I'd rather have a longer tag with, say, my full street address so that if I moved, I can create a different tag with my new street address and gradually change logins' tags once I've adjusted individual sites. The same could be true for a credit card tag that includes an expiration date so that I know which sites I've updated with new info.
I'm an alphabetizing guy that's run into limitations with 1Password having issues with longer tags. I've read that that's a problem others have, but I'd rather not rely on a fix and just work with what's available now.

@bonk: Ultimately, it's up to you how you organize things, but I do have a few suggestions.
First, I'd keep it simple. The more complex the tags are, the more trouble you'll have managing them, especially from a user interface perspective. After all, there is only so much space in the sidebar!
Now, feel free to toss this out, but personally I would create an Identity item with the address and give both it and the Login items in question the same tag so they're associated that way — "home" perhaps. You can also have separate tags for each month. Let me know if this helps at all, or if I've misunderstood something. :)

Hi @bonk,
Spaces can cause issues so I'd probably recommend an underscore. Other than that I'm not aware of any known issues with symbols.

Spaces can cause issues? Really? I use them all the time and I have't seen a problem. In what way might they cause trouble?

Hi @sarandipt ,
It's great to hear that you haven't seen any issues with spaces in your tags. I think the issue that little bobby was alluding to is that the space bar acts as the 'select' option while you're inputting tags. If you have multiple tag suggestions displayed in that dropdown the first one will be automatically selected. Depending on how your tags are named, this might not be a problem. So, if it's working for you, great! No need to worry. :)

Ah, that is a thing I had not noticed yet. I guess all of my tags with spaces have a unique first word, making it work out for the best. I don't like that "feature" and I have other feedback about tags that I've just posted as a new discussion.

Hi @sarandipt ,
Don't worry, we are investigating it and will do what we can to improve the workflow here. Thanks so much for the feedback! :)
