When will saving and filling of secure data be implemented in a non-browser setting?
Currently, 1Password "just works" in browsers. It is not capable of filling or saving information in apps outside of the browser. This is a highly requested feature that many would love to see incorporated into 1P. To my current knowledge, it is the browser extension that gives 1P access to filling/saving details in the browser. Would it be possible to make OSX extensions or to tweak things to get this into other apps like iTunes (repetitively filling in my password there is a headache), Todoist (for login), Day One (to unlock the app), etc, or will the apps themselves have to explicitly provide support for 1P?
To get around this currently I open my login in 1P Mini, press the anchor icon to keep the details there, and use copy-and-paste to transfer details, though this has grown to be tedious. Around when should we expect a release of 1P letting details be filled/saved outside of the browser?
Thank you!
1Password Version: 5.3.2 for Mac
Extension Version: 4.3.1
OS Version: OSX 10.10.3
Sync Type: Wi-Fi Sync

Hi @adihaya,
Unfortunately our policy is not to supply any ETAs or promise functionality that has yet to be implemented. I know, it's frustrating from your standpoint but we've been bitten in the past for not keeping promises made and we want to avoid that kind of mistake again. Maybe it isn't the right approach but we certainly don't like disappointing people either as they eagerly wait for feature that is either delayed or for reasons unknown never comes to pass.
It is a popular request and the developers know it is, we do communicate the users feelings but as with everything it's about finding the time to add certain features, address bugs and keeping up with whatever Apple throw our way.
Some were wondering if WWDC this year would bring iOS-like Extensions to OS X and that we might work with such a feature but it wasn't the case so we will continue exploring alternatives. The desire behind the OS X Extension would have been so we were doing it in an official way rather than using something else in an unintended way. If possible it's always a good idea to work with standards as you can imagine. So I apologise that I can't give you an answer but I have added your voice to the request and I know the feature request is active and hasn't been forgotten.
