Help with Lost Login Credentials

I recently updated 1Password on my iMac and some of the login credentials are gone.

Is there a way to recover this info?

Kinda defeats the purpose of having a master password application if it loses the passwords!!

Thanks for your help :D

Do you sync your 1P data with any other device? If so, what sync method are you using and with what device do you sync?

If you go to 1P > Preferences > Backup do you see a recent backup with more items than those currently appearing in 1P?

    Hi @homerepairtutor,

I'm sorry you seem to be missing some Logins! I can't think of anything that would cause that to happen simply by installing an update for 1Password. Your 1Password data is stored separately from the 1Password app, so it should be the same data before and after an update. The answers to Stephen's questions will be helpful as they could be possible ways to restore those items.

Do you know what version you were using before installing the update to 1Password 5.3? Was it just a small update from a previous release of version 5.x? Or did you upgrade from a previous version like 1Password 3 or 1Password 4?

Also, is it possible you had been using the Mac App Store version of 1Password on your Mac, but downloaded an update from our own download site? The AgileBits Store and Mac App Store versions of 1Password store data in different locations on a Mac, so if that's what happened, it's possible the AgileBits Store version is reading an older database.

Getting more information about the circumstances of the update might help to figure out how this happened, as well as maybe helping to get the missing data back again. Thanks!
