Sync 3 devices, old data is used
I have an Early 2011 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion. For various reasons I have not upgraded to Mavericks or Yosemite.
I am running 1Password 4.4.4 on the MacBook Pro. I have used Wi-fi Sync to sync my data with my iPhone 5.
Recently, I purchased a new iMac that is running Yosemite, and I am running 1Password 5.3.2 on it.
Today, I attempted to Wi-fi Sync my iMac with my iPhone. My iMac appeared in the Wi-Fi Sync window. I select it. A message reads "Last synced: 3 weeks ago. "I press "Sync Now." A message appears "sync started" then disappears. It seems as though nothing happened. I go back to the "Wi-Fi Sync" window. I select the iMac again. The message reads "Last synced: 3 weeks ago." I try syncing again. But, the same things occur.
So, what would be your recommendation to sync all my devices, an iMac running 1Password 5 and Yosemite, a MacBook Pro running 1 Password 4 and Mountain Lion, and a iPhone 5 running iOS 8?
I'd prefer to use Wi-fi. But, if there is only another way that you suggest I'd be willing to try it. I am not crazy about clouds.
I though about copying the data from the iMac (the latest data) to the MacBook Pro, and then syncing with the iPhone from the MacBook. What do you think of that approach? Unless there is some incompatibility with 1Password 5 and 1Password 4 data.
UPDATE: I checked the data on my iPhone, and I see that the last modification that I made on my iMac WAS on my iPhone. So, apparently the data did sync!
Thanks in advance.
1Password Version: 5.3.2 and 4.4.4

OS Version: 10.10.3 and 10.8.5

Disregard previous post. Read this one instead.
My setup:
I have an Early 2011 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion. For various reasons I have not upgraded to Mavericks or Yosemite.
I am running 1Password 4.4.4 on the MacBook Pro. I have successfully used Wi-fi Sync to sync my data with my iPhone 5 from the MacBook.
Recently, I purchased a new iMac that is running Yosemite, and I am running 1Password 5.3.2 on it.
Issue 1:
Today, I attempted to Wi-fi Sync my iMac with my iPhone. My iMac appeared in the Wi-Fi Sync window on the iPhone. I select the iMac. A message reads on the iPhone "Last synced: 3 weeks ago." "I press "Sync Now." A message appears "sync started", then a few seconds later disappears. It seems as though nothing happened. I go back to the "Wi-Fi Sync" window on the iPhone. I select the iMac again. The message reads "Last synced: 3 weeks ago." I try syncing again. But, the same thing occurs.
I then checked the data on the iPhone, and I see that it actually was updated by looking at my most recent modification to one of my items in 1Password!
Issue 2:
I then attempted to Wi-Fi Sync my iPhone with the MacBook thing that I could now update the MacBook with the newly updated data on the iPhone from the iMac. The sync seemed to run normally. The number of items on all devices were the same. But, when I looked at the content of my latest updated item on the iPhone it was the OLD information. As though the iPhone that had newer data accepted the older data from the MackBook. Could this be?
Request:
Do you have any suggestions of a better way to make sure all the data on all devices is up to date? Now, I am afraid to sync the iPhone with the iMac for fear the iMac data (newer) will be overwritten by the iPhone data (older from the MacBook).
Thanks in advance.

Update: Well, here's what I did. I copied my data folder from my iMac to the MacBook. I checked the data on the MacBook, and everything seemed to be up to date. I then synced the iPhone with the MacBook, and checked the data on the iPhone. It to seemed to be up to date. Although, the sync seemed to have "hung." And, it read transferring 333 items, when there is really on 331 in the items list. Go figure.
Anyway, there has got to be a better way. DropBox? I do use DropBox. I just don't like the cloud idea for secure data.

Hi @millerstudio,
I'm sorry you've been having some trouble syncing your 1Password data!
From your description, it sounds like the issues are mostly due to switching your iPhone back and forth between two Macs for Wi-Fi sync. However, Wi-Fi sync is meant to work between a single Mac and one or more iOS devices. We don't recommend switching back and forth between multiple Macs because it requires you to disable & set up Wi-Fi sync again each time you want to switch. Each time you disable Wi-Fi sync with one Mac, it removes a bunch of context data which is used to sync your vault. That context data is re-created when you set up Wi-Fi sync with the other Mac, but all your data in 1Password must go through full conflict resolution again (every field of every item in your vault has to be verified in order to determine which data to keep, in case there have been changes). That has the potential to cause strange sync issues, such as some that you mentioned.
With your setup, a better/easier/more seamless solution would be to use Dropbox sync, which would automatically keep your 1Password data synced between both Macs and your iPhone. We're very confident about storing 1Password data in the cloud, as your data file is encrypted with an exceedingly secure encryption algorithm called AES. Even if someone were to acquire a copy of your 1Password data file, it would be extremely difficult (approaching impossible in a human lifetime) for them to actually gain access to your passwords without your master password. In short, we believe it is just as secure as having the data on your computer. To learn more about cloud data security, please take a look at this knowledgebase article: Is it safe to sync my data over the cloud?
If you still don't want to use Dropbox sync, that's fine! Another option would be to continue using Wi-Fi sync between your iPhone and one of your Macs, and keep the Macs in sync with each other using the Folder sync option with another sync solution.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions about that, or if you still have some trouble getting Wi-Fi sync to work between your iPhone and one Mac, please let us know. We're always happy to help. :)

Thanks, Drew. I will look at both approaches that you proposed. Thanks again for the quick response!
