Safari extension unresponsive

Safari 8.0.7 extension suddenly stopped working. I've uninstalled and re-installed extension 4.4.0, 4.4.1, and now 4.4.1b3 (just in case); restarted Safari; nothing works, they all just sit there dead as doornails. Clicking the icon results in nothing, at all, won't even open. The full application (5.3.2) and Mini work just fine.

@kolonelpanik: Oh dear. Well, it's working here, so it sounds like you may have a damaged extension database in Safari.
I hope you don't mind, but I've moved your post to another thread to avoid confusion, since it's for a completely different issue on Yosemite with 1Password 5.
First, though, definitely use the 1Password Troubleshooting tool to repair permissions, and then restart your Mac, as that may resolve the issue rather simply. However, if doesn't help, it may be necessary to reset Safari's extensions database:
- Open a Finder window and use the keyboard shortcut
⇧⌘G
to open a Go to the folder window. - Use the following location:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.Extensions.plist
and click the Go button. - Drag the highlighted file to your Trash.
- Launch Keychain Access which you can find in
/Applications/Utilities/
or using a Spotlight search. - Search for
safari
and right-click on Safari Extensions List and select the Delete "Safari Extensions List" option. - In Finder go to the following folder (using the same method as detailed in step 1) to go to
~/Library/Safari/
- Drag the entire
Extensions
folder to your Trash - Then restart you Mac and Safari, which will recreate the folder and hopefully that sorts out the permissions issue
If you're still having trouble, this discussion in Apple's forums might help, or you may need to contact Apple directly for assistance.
I hope this helps. Please let me know how it turns out! :)
