Sync problem because of a other tresor that usually used. Don't understand this message
Hello,
i have repaired my OSX. Before, i have done an export (.1pif) and later import in my tresor.
But now, sync is not possible. And the error message is like usual and say's nothing :-(
Really sh*t! Sorry, but it is like that
The hole process with searching faq's, register to contact support and so on takes a lot of time.
I really don't like. And, by the way, 1 Password is not cheap!!!
Regards Michael

It would really help us to help you if you'd tell us the exact error message you receive when you try to sync by wifi. Please also let us know what device you're trying to sync with. On the assumption it's an iOS device please tell us what version of 1Password for iOS you are using.
Just as an idea, if you are trying wifi sync between your Mac and an iOS device have you tried rebooting both devices?

Hi @Mischugo,
Stephen_C is correct, while the error message may seem like it doesn't help it will probably be a vital clue to the problem at hand. It could also be very useful to know more about the device you're trying to sync to. With these two pieces of information I would hope we can identify the issue and what needs to be done to resolve it.

Hi @Mischugo,
I think I know the problem you are facing. So my next question to you is, is there any item in your 1Password for iOS vault that is only on your iPhone?
I ask because the easiest way to remove this problem is to wipe 1Password for iOS on your iPhone and start over again. If the vault on your MacBook Pro is completely up-to-date this won't be a problem. If you have something in your iPhone vault that is only there then we need to do something about that.
You should only need to do this the once - the issue shouldn't return as we've fixed the cause but we couldn't stop it from happening the first time.
If your MacBook Pro's 1Password vault contains everything then this is what you will need to do on your iPhone. Follow our How do I start over with an empty vault? guide (iOS) on your iPhone and then use our Existing 1Password user guide to help use Wi-Fi to push your vault back to the fresh copy of 1Password for iOS.
If you have any questions before starting please do ask as now is the time. Hopefully though you will be reporting that 1Password on your iPhone is working again.

Thanks a lot!
I will try it this day. I remember, that the MacBook has the newest tresor, but i think on my iPad are some entries, they are not on the MacBook. The best way coud be, to bring both versions together with wifi sync :)

Hi @Mischugo,
New items on your iPad shouldn't be a problem at all. I believe it is syncing at the moment with your MacBook and everything relating to your iPhone should not interfere with that.
Now if I've misunderstood, and you're seeing the same problem on your iPad please do correct me now. There are steps we can take to ensure those extra items aren't lost.

Hello Littlebobbytables
Again, both, iPhone and iPad don't synchronize because of an problem. The error message less me something about an issue about an tresor that is another like the one before.
I never used more than the default tresor. So, i don't understand this message.
As i try to activate /create a new tresor, i get the choice between dropbox or demo. What kind of brain is it.Lets say a new document in Photoshop and you get the choice between cloud or demo...? Not a local document? Not my own file path for it...
Hope, you understand what i mean.
Best, Mischugo

Hi @Mischugo,
My apologies, I did misunderstand the severity of the issue. Now it makes it a bit more tricky but it isn't what we would call a show stopper.
If you only need to copy a couple of items from your iPad to your Mac and if both are compatible with AirDrop then you can use AirDrop to share them between your Macs. For more on this feature this page, How do I share an item with another 1Password user? will act as a starting point. It doesn't mention AirDrop, an omission we will need to correct, but AirDrop is available on the same screen and 1Password for Mac will ask if you want to add the item.
This is the quick and easy way to copy a small number of items across. Once done it would mean your vault on your Mac is up to date and you should be free to wipe the iOS devices and push a fresh copy of your Mac vault to the iOS device.
I would recommend doing so on your iPhone first, making sure everything goes as planned. Once you're happy you have a good copy of your vault on your iPhone you can do the same with your iPad.
The whole cause of this is a bug which I apologise for. As I say, we've fixed the cause of the bug but for those afflicted, and they may not even know yet, there is a number of steps to go through to sort it out right now. We hope to make it easier in a future release but as I can't say when that might be so waiting is not an option at the moment.

Good morning from Germany,
I am not sure to understand what to do.
I have about 1.620 items and i should share them via airdrop? step by step.May be you can find another way or start "bugfixing" to make an easy and trusted way for syncing between all devices.
For the price of all the apps, should really do this :-)It should be easy like a professional foldersync-software, you know

@Mischugo: Not at all. Obviously lil bobby has no way of knowing how many items you have, and initially it sounded like there may just be a few you're missing, so this was his suggestion:
If you only need to copy a couple of items from your iPad to your Mac and if both are compatible with AirDrop then you can use AirDrop to share them between your Macs.
Of course no one wants you to make 1620 individual AirDrop transfers. That would be silly! ;)
I believe I have a solution for you. Please follow these steps exactly to backup, merge, reset, and finally sync back to iOS:
- Make a fresh backup of your 1Password data on your Mac
- In 1Password for Mac, go to File > Export > All Items and save as .1PIF
- With 1Password for iOS, save a backup of your data
- In 1Password for Mac, go to Preferences > Backups > Find Backup and add you iOS backup from step 3
- Restore from the iOS backup you just added in step 4
- Then go to File > Import and choose the .1PIF you saved in step 2 (to merge the data from your original vault)
- Delete 1Password for iOS
- Reinstall 1Password for iOS
- Set up WLAN Sync between your Mac and iOS device and sync the merged vault over from the Mac
- Finally, delete the .1PIF from step 2 and secure erase using Finder > Secure Empty Trash
I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions, or if you get stuck on a particular step. I look forward to hearing back from you! :)
