Secure Notes
(1) Would appreciate examples of what to put in Secure Notes.
(2) I have 8 pages of password info in my Pages password page. Would it be possible to copy all and paste into Secure Notes?

Secure notes are very flexible and you can really put whatever you like into them. I use them a lot—to record things like serial numbers of kit, car and travel insurance details, travel pass details, etc.

Yes, I've no doubt that would be possible but in the longer term it's probably not what you want. If those passwords relate to login items you'll want to add them to the login items category in 1Password so that you can use 1P to fill in those logins for you when you visit the relevant site using your browser. (1P won't be able to do that for you if you save login passwords simply as secure notes.)

Hi @marlene,
As always, Stephen's answer here is spot-on. Secure Notes are basically intended for any information that doesn't really fit into the other Categories in 1Password. It's completely up to you what you choose to put in a Secure Note, there's no right or wrong answer! ;)
If you have lots of passwords saved in a Pages file, then as Stephen said, you'll probably want to save those as individual Login items. The best way to save Logins is explained here: Saving a Login
With 8 pages of password info, that might take a little extra time, but I think it will be worth it in the long term. For now, you can certainly copy that info into a Secure Note, and maybe update that Secure Note to remove info as you save it in Login items.
We're here for you if you have more questions! :)

Another option which may be a time saver, is to format your data in Pages in a tabular format, that can be exported as a CSV file (via Numbers). If you format the columns correctly, as stated in the article Advanced import: creating CSV files , then your import into 1Password will be much easier.

Hi @marlene,
Hopefully some/all of that helped but should you have any other questions please do ask
