access, password problem
I have purchased 1Password and am trying to generate a password for a web site that apparently I have a password for. But the hidden password does not agree in terms of asterisks to the password that actually allows me into the site. How do I get rid of the unknown password? I tried to edit and delete it, but it does not seem to work

Hi @jim_perley,
I'm sorry you're having some trouble with one of your website account passwords! To make sure I understand, is the problem that you don't know the current password for your account on that site, and don't have the correct password saved in 1Password? Or can you sign in with the current password but need help to change it to something else?
To make sure you can still sign into that site, go to the login form on that site, then open 1Password and copy & paste (or manually type) your username and password from there into the website. If you can't sign in by copying/pasting or manually typing your username and password, then you don't have the correct login credentials saved in the 1Password app. If you don't know what the correct username and password are, the site should have a way for you to reset your password.
On the other hand, if it works when you copy & paste your login credentials, but not when you have the 1Password extension fill them for you, please follow these steps to save a new Login for that site. Does the new Login item work correctly?
If the problem is that you aren't sure how to change your login password, you can do that by following the steps here: How to change a password for a site saved in 1Password
Hopefully one of these things helps, but if I misunderstood the problem, please let us know. Thanks!
