How to upgrade 1Password from Version 3.8.22 to 5 on a Mac?
Still do not know how to upgrade. Actual (old) version is 3.8.22 (build 32010). Purchased today recommended (by agile) upgrade to 5 for mac for $24.99. In the app it says the old version is the latest version. I am confused.
1Password Version: Version 3.8.22 (build 32010)
Extension Version: 5 for Mac
OS Version: OS X 10.10.3
Sync Type: iCloud

Hi @brunopmueller,
If you've been running 1Password 3 on this Mac then the upgrade process should be pretty easy. When you first launch 1Password 5 it checks certain locations for existing data. Two of those locations are where 1Password 3 locally stores the 1Password.agilekeychain by default and Dropbox, the cloud sync option available in 1Password 3. So if you upgrade from 1Password 3 to 1Password 5 on a machine it should seem effortless.
Now if your vault is on another machine then that helpful post Stephen_C linked you to should assist in migrating the information from the old to the new.
Obviously if something isn't clear or you have questions do please ask. If you can describe your current situation then we will certainly do our best to supply a set of steps detailed for your situation.
Now the reason why 1Password 3 says it's up to date is because 1Password 4 and 5 were such a significant rewrite that they are in their own branch. So when 1Password 3 goes away and checks it does find it's running the newest version of that 1Password 3 branch. 1Password 3 will at one point have notified you that there was a significant upgrade available but I don't know if the message repeated at all after you closed it the first time.
Keep us posted and hopefully you find the upgrade isn't too bad
