If you bought from the AgileBits web store, you should have received an email with a clickable link. You have to click this link to apply the license. If you no longer have the email, you can get it sent again by going to https://agilebits.com/support.

On the other hand, it is possible that you bought from the Mac App Store, but are using the direct version.

Until you have got the matter settled, I'll just mention that you can continue using 1PW even though the trial has ended. It will still work to fill in passwords, but until it is licensed you won't be able to add new passwords.

This knowledge base article will help you sort out the conflicting copies:

How to remove multiple, conflicting copies of 1Password from your system

Note that 1Password 5.app is the version from the AgileBits store and 1Password.app is the version from the Mac App Store. Note also that the Mac App Store version does not require a licence. If you have a licence file it's in respect of the AgileBits store version. (I'm unclear what you mean when you refer, in your first post, to "a receipt for a license".)

I suggest you sort out the conflicting versions first and then we can help you sort out the Dropbox problem.

    Hi Stephen

    Now I am confused :)

In 2006 I bought a license from Mac. I know have two Mac books and both say 'trial over' we need a license.

I have the 1Password5 on both Macs

Both Macs are saying the 'trial is over'.

I just want to know what I need to do - as I did buy a license my receipt number is in the previous email.

    Hi @Jlang ,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with 1Password. I took a look in our back office records to see if you might have a license for the AgileBits Store version of 1Password, but I was unable to find any licenses attached to the email address that you have used for your forum profile.

I would be happy to keep searching our records if you think you did purchase directly from us. However, if you think you purchased from the Mac App Store, we won't have any records of that purchase, as Apple doesn't provide us any access to their records.

If you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store, then we simply need to get you back onto the Mac App Store version of 1Password. We have a User Guide article that can walk you through the process of migrating to the Mac App Store version.

If you would like us to locate a license in our records, please send your full name, the email address that you used to purchase 1Password (or several alternates if you are unsure) and any purchase details you can recall to support+licenses@agilebits.com. We'll get this sorted for you!
