(Firefox) Browser extension not working with Tor
Hi!
When I turn on and connect my Mac over Tor network, the 1Password browser extension do not work anymore. Nothing append anymore when clicking… (Firefox 39.0). I found there is notices like that :
Jul 17 10:40:09.000 [warn] Rejecting SOCKS request for anonymous connection to private address [scrubbed]. Jul 17 10:46:02.000 [warn] Rejecting SOCKS request for anonymous connection to private address [scrubbed]. [10 similar message(s) suppressed in last 300 seconds] Jul 17 10:51:02.000 [warn] Rejecting SOCKS request for anonymous connection to private address [scrubbed]. [4 similar message(s) suppressed in last 300 seconds]
Seems 1Password is trying to connect to localhost and have a conflict with localhost SOCKS proxy used for Tor.
We would like 1Password to work also with Tor when host is connected over localhost SOCKS proxy. Is that possible ?
Thanks
1Password Version: 5.3
Extension Version: 4.4.1
OS Version: 10.10.4

Hi @mediapart,
I hope you don't mind that I've moved your query. Our Saving and Filling in Browsers sub-forum is intended to be quite a specialised section relating specifically with how we behave with a particular website e.g. DOM, fields and Event Handlers.
I'm not a TOR user myself but what we normally suggest is to add an exclusion to the proxy for localhost, the idea being if the communication is never intended to leave the machine then it doesn't need to go via the proxy. I'm not entirely clear, due to my naivety with TOR if that's an issue or not but it's what should allow inter-process communication via WebSockets to work again.
We have this page on Configuring a firewall or proxy on your Mac. It doesn't precisely address TOR but I believe the concept should be the same. Is this useful at all and does it help with allowing the extension to run while TOR is in use?

Thanks for your kind answer @littlebobbytables !
Looks like it's working… I was pretty sure that I've been testing that before, maybe I didn't save it correctly… >_<
Thanks anyway ! :)0 -
Glad to hear things are running smoothly for you @mediapart. If you have any other queries at all please do ask!
