How long does it take for a response?

I posted a question, received email requesting verification, and I did so twice. How long does it take to receive a response, and where would I find it?

    Hi @hawk_1,

Sorry for the confusion. Now I can't find any posts by you except this one that I'm answering now so it seems something has gone wrong. Can you post your query again for us please and assuming the forums doesn't swallow anything up again we'll do our best to answer you

Thank you for response. I am new to this, and I have Safari. When I log into a site I entered my user ID and password, then Safari wants to remember it. Should I allow this and also have 1Password remember? What I see as a potential problem is if I log into my bank, Safari keeps password, then my bank could be accessed if computer were compromised. How do I eliminate Safari keeping passwords and only allow 1Password to have them?

@hawk_1 - You can have Safari's keychain save your passwords AND have 1Password do so as well, if you want. They can coexist. The information in the Mac keychain is protected by the password you used to set things up. But I don't let Safari do that anymore. I rely only on 1Password.

If you want to stop Safari from doing this chore, you would make a change in Safari Preference in the AutoFill tab. Uncheck the box to autofill usernames and passwords. I also have stopped Safari from filling in anything else on web pages too, as you can see in this screen capture.

Once you have unchecked that box, click on the Edit button beside it. You'll be taken to the Passwords tab, where you would uncheck the box at the top of the panel and delete any entries in the window below it. Thusly:

    Hi @hawk_1,

I'm glad hawkmoth could provide you with these great instructions (hawks helping hawks!), and kudos for thinking through the security issues of using the browser's autofill feature in addition to 1Password.

If you're interested in reading more, you may want to peruse the articles in our knowledgebase about why and how to disable the browser's autofill feature (though obviously there is some overlap between the "how" article with hawkmoth's helpful directions above). :)

    Vee,
Thanks for the places to read about disabling the browser's autofill feature.

You're most welcome, @hawk_1, on behalf of @Vee. And a belated welcome from me to our forum community and 1Password!
