Trouble with old 1Password transfer to new 1Password. Help?

My old computer (Macbook Pro) with my 1Password died. I had what I could recover placed on a Seagate backup drive. Now have a new computer (Macbook Air). Purchased 1Password again. When I try to transfer my old 1Password to the new it won't do anything. I get and select I've used 1Password before option. Then it asks where my data is and I select Another Device (my seagate drive). It acknowledges but won't let me select my old 1Password application on my external drive. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

    Hi @jinxincorp,

If your data is on a drive connected to your Mac (via USB, for example), you can tell 1Password that your data is "on this Mac" and then select the vault database (the file should be called OnePassword.sqlite or perhaps 1Password.agilekeychain) from the backup drive.

I look forward to hearing how that works out for you!

    Hello Vee.

So unfortunately, I have a feeling that when I had the hard drive from my dead mac recovered it did not bring the vault database files you mentioned along. I've searched my drive and when I select on this mac the dialogue box takes me to the external drive. The old 1Password application is there but it is not a file...it is shown as the application. I select the application to open and it doesn't open. What to do? I searched the backup drive for the file names you mentioned and nothing was found. I have a terrible feeling that when my old hard drive died it took everything with it!
