Problem determined

Everytime I want to open 1P on my iPhone or iPad I get the message "Please unlock 1P on your Mac - 1P has determined a problem". (translated from German to English).
I can open 1P without a problem on all 3 units (Mac, iPhone, iPad).
What is to do?

    Hi @mario40,

It might be we don't have a very accurate translation there. Would you mind supplying the original German text as I can search for it and see the message it has been translated from.

If I had to offer an educated opinion it sounds like you use Wi-Fi Sync as that's the only time I see a message like that. It usually means the iOS device is attempting to synchronise with the Mac over Wi-Fi but cannot because the vault on your Mac is locked.

It may be this isn't the same error message, that you're seeing and if that's simply the case we'll continue the troubleshooting process.

    The German wording:
Bitte entsperren Sie 1P auf Ihrem Mac -1P hat ein Problem festgestellt

Yes, I use Wi-Fi Sync for synchronisation between Mac and iPhone and Mac and iPad. I see in the iOS units 2 vaults, "Primary" and "1Password". I need only one vault. Please let me know, what to do to have only one vault (Name "Primary" or "1Password" ?) without losing the other vault.

Thanks for the new details, @mario40.

I see in the iOS units 2 vaults, "Primary" and "1Password". I need only one vault.

You many vaults do you have in 1Password on your Mac right now?

Which of those vaults (one or more) have 1Password data that you need to keep?

Is all 1Password data that you need to keep in 1Password on your Mac right now?

Please let me know, what to do to have only one vault (Name "Primary" or "1Password" ?) without losing the other vault.

Do any of those vaults have 1Password data that you need to keep that isn't in 1Password on your Mac?

In the end, do you want only one vault in 1Password on your Mac, iPad, and iPhone?

And then do want to use Wi-Fi Sync for syncing 1Password data between all of them?

Once we know where all your 1Password data you need is right now we'll be able to suggest what to change to get this sorted out. Thanks!

There is one vault on my Mac (without name). All data are on my Mac actually. I use normally Wi-Fi Sync. Thanks for your help.

    Hi @mario40,

Thanks for getting back to us with those details! Since all your data is on your Mac, let's just start fresh with your iOS device. In 1Password, go into Settings > Advanced > Erase Data and Settings. This will cause 1Password to quit, and when you re-open, you'll be able to set up 1Password as an existing user.

This should get you all sorted out! But we're here if you have any further questions or concerns.

After your proceeding "Settings > Advanced > Erase Data and Settings" I have still 2 vaults with the Name "Primary" and "1Password" in the iPhone. I want the data of the Mac vault in my iOS iPhone and iPad, not more or less. Is this possible?

    Hi @mario40,

Could you please clarify the steps that you took here? After using the 'Erase Data and Settings' option in 1Password 5 for iOS, did the app quit? Did you reset sync using the instructions that I provided? Or was your data still in the app.

The 'Erase Data and Settings' should wipe all of your data from the app. If you only have one vault on your Mac, when you re-sync you should have only one vault in your iOS app.

If you confirm exactly the steps that you took, we'll get a better idea of where things got tangled up.

Now it`s ok. My language is German, this makes it a little difficult to translate precisely the words.

    Hi @mario40,

That's great news, I'm glad it's working correctly for you now! (And I'm sorry if our instructions were difficult for you to translate.)

Hopefully you're all set, but if you have more questions or need anything else, just let us know. :)
