Yosemite upgrade broke 1Password?? [Resolved - update to 1Password 5]
I just upgraded to Yosemite (10.9.5 -> 10.10.4), and got "This version of 1Password is not compatible with this OS." It got moved to the "Incompatible Apps" folder, and the App Store is offering to sell me 1password for $49. How do I get my (licensed) 1password up and running again, please?
1Password Version: 1Password 4
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: OS X 10.10.4
Sync Type: Dropbox

Hm. Very confusing but possibly solved: 1password offered to upgrade itself to 5.3.2 shortly thereafter. Perhaps I cried wolf; if so, sorry!

@thatwesguy: Sorry for the confusion! 1Password 4 for Mac is not supported on Yosemite, but 1Password 5 is...and it's a free upgrade for 1Password 4 customers!
Unfortunately 1Password has no way of knowing whether or not you've purchased it unless you register the app with your license information. But the good news is that all you need to do is follow the instructions in the license email you received from your purchase and click the link to automatically install the license in 1Password to register the app and remove the trial restrictions.
In that spirit, tried to resend your license information via email in case you didn't have it handy, but I'm afraid I wasn't able to find you in your system. If you purchase 1Password through the Mac App Store, simply download it again there from the Purchased tab and you'll be all set. If, however, you purchased it directly from AgileBits and can't find the license email we sent originally, the best thing to do would be to email us at support+forums at agilebits dot com so we can help you find it. Just be sure to include a link to this forum thread and your username in the email so we can 'connect the dots', and let us know what email address or name you used at the time of purchase. We will get this sorted out for you! :)

Thanks very much! (The reason you couldn't find me is that 1Password was unavailable when I wanted to log in to the forum, so I logged in with my Google credentials, which AgileBits doesn't know about. Sigh.)
I appreciate the explanation and the help. If I have any trouble, I'll start with your advice. Thanks again!

RESOLUTION: Turns out you can upgrade to Yosemite with 1Password 4 active. If you do so, Yosemite will complain in a rather scary way that 1Password 4 isn't compatible with the OS. But you can still launch 1Password 4, and if you do so, it'll upgrade itself to 1Password 5, resolving the issue. Thanks, all!

@thatwesguy Thanks for the update. Sorry that Yosemite gets so excited about 1Password 4! Glad to hear your 1Password install is all sorted out now. :chuffed:
