Not the same between Laptop and iMac
1password5 on iMac and MBP Laptop. Both database files are different. Dropbox is the syncing. Laptop computer has 51 items total. IMac has 48 items total. iMac has 7 items that the Laptop does not have. Laptop has 10 items that the iMac does not have. what would be the solution for this problem. I wouldn't mind shifting to my iCloud service for the syncing. I'm hoping for a merge to combine the databases without duplicating. Both computers are on OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite.

@jgreena1: Indeed, you're on the right track. To use iCloud, you'll need to have purchased the Mac App Store version of 1Password, but either way all you need to do is sync all devices with the same vault in Dropbox and merge the data.
- Open 1Password Preferences
- Under Backup, Backup Now
- Go to Preferences > Sync and set "Sync X vault with" to "None"
- Repeat this on the other computer
- Set "Sync X vault with" to use iCloud or Dropbox on the first computer
- Merge data if prompted
- Let the sync complete
- Repeat 5-7 on each additional computer
I hope this helps. Please let me know how it turns out! :)

I was not prompted to merge on the first computer. I was prompted to merge on the 2nd computer.
I can not get the first computer to find the data that the 2nd computer is using on the I cloud.
I'm getting closer. There is a step that I missed.0 -
Hi @jgreena1,
Sorry that didn't seem to work! Let's take a closer look at 1Password on each Mac. Can you please let us know a few details:
- What exact version of 1Password is installed on each Mac?
- Are you using the AgileBits Store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password?
- If you're using the Mac App Store version, did you switch to iCloud sync, or are you still using Dropbox?
- If you're using Dropbox sync, are you signed into the same Dropbox account on both Macs?
- If you're using iCloud sync, are you signed into the same Apple ID / iCloud account on both Macs?
Also, please check a couple settings on each Mac:
- Open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences.
- Click the Sync tab (if you have multiple vaults, choose the one you're trying to sync on the left side).
- Check which sync option is selected - is it the same on both Macs?
- If you're syncing with Dropbox on both Macs, check the file path for the 1Password.agilekeychain file - is it the same file in the same location in Dropbox on both Macs?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @jgreena1,
On your MacBook Pro, it sounds like you downloaded 1Password from our website (i.e. the AgileBits Store version) instead of from the Mac App Store. The latest version of 1Password 5 from the Mac App Store is 5.3. The only changes in version 5.3.2 are related to purchasing a license from the AgileBits Store, so it's not something that applies to the Mac App Store version.
What you'll want to do is install the Mac App Store version of 1Password on your MacBook. Just launch the Mac App Store, make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase 1Password, and install it from the Purchases section. When you open it for the first time, it should find the data you have stored in the AgileBits Store version. If you need help with that, we have more information in this knowledgebase article.
Once you have the Mac App Store version installed on both Macs, you'll be able to start using iCloud sync if you want to. Or you can continue using Dropbox sync - just make sure 1Password is set to sync with the same 1Password.agilekeychain in Dropbox on both Macs.
Does that help at all? If you're still having trouble, please let us know the rest of the information I asked for in my previous reply. Thanks! :)
