Installing a clean installation on Mavricks

I am progressing with my "dual installations".
On my systems "MacBook Pro, iPad, iphone, I have installed a Principal vault synchronized via dropbox. I have created a secondary vault for so that I can assist my wife to manage this Vault (secondary vault).

For my wife, I have set-up a shared dropbox folder with a secondary Vault. This is perfect for her iPad, her MacBook BUT not on her iMac.
On the iMac I had installed an initial system with a Principal vault. I can see how to add to this the shared Vault that I help to manage.
However, I would like to reinstall 1Password as a new install and then select as the correct Principal Vault for her the SHARED VAULT.

However, I have followed the instructions / procedures that I have found in discussions including Terminal based instructions BUT the installation is not a clean installation and I cannot reinstall correctly to have ONLY on the iMac the SHARED DROPBOX Vault. Help please !!!

Apparently, Mavericks is quite difficult to manage.

CONCLUSION : HELP PLEASE

    Hi @Flute_Expert,

I'm sorry you're having difficulty in resetting 1Password on your wife's iMac!

Just to make sure I understand: It sounds like you previously installed 1Password on that iMac (running Mavericks) and set up a Primary vault, but now you want to completely start over with 1Password on that iMac, delete the original Primary vault, and sync the new shared vault as the Primary vault. Is that correct? If I'm mistaken about anything, please let me know.

If that's what you're trying to do, can you confirm whether or not you want to completely delete the current Primary vault from that iMac? Or do you want to re-add that as a secondary vault after resetting 1Password? If there is data in that vault which you want to keep, please make sure it is currently set up with Dropbox or Folder sync. You should also make a new backup by opening the main 1Password app and going to File > Backup.

In order to reset 1Password on the iMac, you'll need to follow the steps here: Starting Over

After you do that, when you open 1Password, it should allow you to create a new vault by syncing your shared vault from Dropbox. If those steps aren't working as expected for you, please let us know exactly what happens, and we'll continue from there. Thanks!
