Had synced imac and MBP, also use Dropbox. Haven't used imac and have changed Master Password a couple of times since. Trying to login to imac fails and cant remember the old M/Psw. How do I resolve please. Data on imac will be out of date, but I can't login to change syncing etc.

    Hi @SoMuch2Do,

Because 1Password doesn't sync until you unlock it, you would need to unlock it with the old master password first and allow it to sync the changes. Once the sync is complete, you should be able to lock it and then unlock it with the new master password.

Now, you won't be able to do that if you don't remember the old master password of course, so you'll need to reset 1Password on that iMac. That will remove your 1Password data stored locally on that iMac, but luckily it sounds like it's all old data, and you have all your current data on your MacBook Pro and in Dropbox, so you won't actually be losing anything.

To reset 1Password on your iMac, you'll need to follow the steps here: Starting Over

After that, when you open 1Password on your iMac, it will allow you to create a vault by syncing it from Dropbox. When it asks for the master password for the vault in Dropbox, it will be your new/current master password that you use on the MacBook.

Hopefully that helps, but please let us know if you have any questions or run into any trouble with that. Thanks!

Found the old password. Logged in but the data on this imac is still out of date - no dropbox activity. Then I realised the MBP runs a later version of 1Password to the iMac. I reset 1Password as shown in Starting Over and all works. Thanks @Drew_AG
