Machine stuck on OS X 10.7.5, want to use 1P 5 on Yosemite, can they share data safely?

My MacPro is stuck on 10.7.5 forever, none of my newer machines have that issue and are all on 10.10.x

I'm Running Version 3.8.22 (build 32010) on 10.7.5, haven't upgraded.
So...

Can 3.8.22 share data with newer versions?

If I upgrade to V5, can I run V4 on my 10.7.5 machine (and is it included in the upgrade price)?

What can I do?

    I'm happy to hear you're thinking of upgrading to 1Password 5! To answer your questions:

    Can 3.8.22 share data with newer versions?

    Absolutely! You'll be able to use Dropbox sync to do that. In 1Password 3, you can set up Dropbox sync by following these steps (assuming you already have Dropbox installed on that Mac):

    • Open the 1Password 3 app and and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences.
    • Select the General tab and click the Move to Dropbox button.
    • Confirm that you’d like to move your data file to your Dropbox folder.
    • Allow Dropbox to finish syncing.

    On your other Macs, make sure you have Dropbox installed, and when you open 1Password 5 for the first time, you'll be able to choose to sync your data from Dropbox.

    If I upgrade to V5, can I run V4 on my 10.7.5 machine...

    I'm afraid not, as 1Password 4 for Mac requires OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or 10.8 (Mountain Lion). But you can certainly continue to use 1Password 3 on your Mac with OS X 10.7.5.

    Yes it is! 1Password 4 and 5 use the same license file for activation, so if you upgrade to 1Password 5 for Mac, the license you receive will also work for version 4. If you have any Macs running OS X 10.8 or 10.9, you'll be able to get 1Password 4 from the "Legacy" section at the bottom of our download site and activate it with the license file you get when you buy the upgrade for version 5.
