How do I open preferences and activate rich icons?

In the welcome message from Dave Teare I noticed a menu bar at the top, the one that has watctower I believe the third from the left; also how do you get Rich Icons Thanks, Tom

    @tom_777 - I hope you don't mind that I changed the title of your post to accurately reflect what your question is this time. This will help other users make use of the answer too.

    I think you must be referring to the bar at the top of the 1Password preferences. To open that, click on 1Password 5 at the top left of your main system menu bar, next to the little Apple logo. Then click Preferences. That will open the window to make various changes, including activating Watchtower.

    To use Rich Icons, check the box on the line one up from the bottom in the General tab of the preferences, as shown here:
