How do I see all available item categories? What if something doesn't fit into any category?

You posted a couple very closely related questions in two different discussions, so I merged them together to avoid confusion. Also, both had the title of "How do I move Password 1 to the Icon bar at the bottom of my IMac", and I notice Vee already answered that in your other discussion from yesterday, so I changed the title to better reflect your current question, so other folks with the same question will be more easily able to find the answer. I hope you don't mind! :)

Yes, there certainly are! A few categories are always shown in the sidebar even if they don't contain any items. Other categories will appear in the sidebar once you add those types of items. You can see a list of all the item categories when you choose File > New Item from the menu bar in the 1Password app. You can find more information in our user guide: Categories

Good question! We suggest storing data in Secure Notes if there's not a more suitable category - although you can certainly experiment with different item types to see if something else fits.

I'm glad you found the New Item menu option! Sorry if I wasn't clear about how to find that. And don't worry, you don't sound stupid at all! Everyone has a different level of familiarity with things like that, and sometimes we forget that options we use all the time might not be as obvious to someone else.
