1password sync w icloud benefits?
Hi all,
I have a macbook pro - iphone 5s and ipad...
I have 1password 4 for mac (also 1password for iphone / ipad ) and want to upgrade to v5 for yosemite 10.10.4
there are 2 versions...
1 - regular
2 - also sync with iCloud (added cost)
Q: What are the benefits to syncing with iCloud?

In my opinion there are no real benefits in iCloud sync rather than Dropbox sync. In fact there are some disadvantages.
But some people just don't like Dropbox, or are already using iCloud for other things and don't want to bother with two methods. It really is a matter of personal preference.

Thanks for the response - good to know - btw I have most data in 1P but some are in iCloud sync - is there a way to merge them some how so the data is in both - or at least export the iCloud sync ones into 1password?

I would personally stick with the AgileBits Store licence you already have and synchronise via Dropbox. While some people do have preferences regarding their cloud service of choice, it would seem to me if you're asking then that isn't an issue for you. As long as you have no strong preferences based on the two companies involved then from a technical standpoint I really don't see a difference. In fact you can argue that Dropbox is more powerful due to the ability to share folders between users and better cross-platform support.
Given iCloud Sync support requires an entirely new purchase of 1Password it's hard to recommend unless you have completely discounted Dropbox as an acceptable cloud service.
