Welcome to 1Password and that's it! I need HELP!
Hello,
I need Help! The mini app in Safari is ok but when I went to open up 1Password all I get is a "Welcome to 2Password" screen. I tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it but the same issue is present.
Sincerely,
Damian

I think we need more explanation of the problem, and I'll tell you why. :) 1P mini is simply a front end for the main app database so there's really no reason why you should everything in 1P mini but then be unable to open the main app. I'm not doubting your difficulties but simply explaining how things should work.
Can we be quite clear about the problem, please? If you open 1P mini (maybe by using the ⌥⌘\ shortcut, for example) are you saying you can see all your data via 1P mini?
How do you launch the main app when you have the problem you described?
If you search for 1Password in Spotlight what result do you get?

Hello and thanks for the quick response,
I am going to attach a picture of what I see when I start 1P but it seems there is another problem. My vault has disappeared???

Hi @damiank,
Do you see where it says Awesome! Let's Get Started in the bottom right hand corner? That's actually a button and if you click that the Welcome to 1Password window will disappear, never to be seen again. The ninja-esque capabilities of that button mean you're not the first and certainly won't be the last to miss it's existence. We do have a bug report due to the lack of visibility so sorry for the confusion!
Now with that issue hopefully resolved, does everything else fall into place or are you still having trouble? please do let us know as we'll want to work with you until 1Password is up and running and working properly for you

Hello,
I am still having issues... I clicked where it says Awesome! Let's Get Started and it does close the window and then when I open the application again it shows the same screen and all that seems to do at this time is just close the window. Now, when I go to use 1Password from the browser it also now states "There is no vault. Please open 1Password app.

Hey, I know I backup 1Password to iCloud and maybe there lies the problem. Also, I was thinking that maybe I should just restore from my Time Capsule...

Hi @damiank,
If you're repeatedly getting that welcome screen and you're being told you don't have a vault something has gone quite wrong.
The first thing worth trying is to download our 1Password Troubleshooting application. Launch it and you should see a tab titled Permissions. Select that tab and click the button titled Repair Permissions.
Hopefully that will allow 1Password to correctly launch. If you vault is in iCloud it should pick it up. If it doesn't we've still got problems. Did anything happen around the time you first noticed this? If it did please include a description as best you can as any details may prove useful.
If this is the case I would like you to create the following Diagnostic Report please. This guide will assist (you've already downloaded the application).
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums
The email address you will want to use is support+forum@agilebits.com.
When sending the diagnostic report to the address above it would help immensely if you could include a link to this thread and your forum handle so we can connect the two.
Once you've sent the report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. With access to the report we should be able to better assist you

Hello, I have sent the file as requested and the RE: field is labeled "1Password 4 Diagnostics Report for Damian with Support Forum URL"

Also, I just wanted to mention that the only thing I did recently was to add an app called Knock which is used to unlock my macbook after I have been away from it for some time.

Hello,
I have some updated info for you…
The problem was because of Knock and once removed 1Password stared working again.
Here is the URL to the Knock to open website…
I will also be contacting them about the issue as I thought Knock to unlock would not cause a problem as that app is meant to function
to unlock my mac while your app is to unlock websites. Although it would be great if 1Password could also unlock my mac….0 -
Hi @damiank,
Okay, that is really odd and thank you for supplying the URL for Knock. I will be intrigued to learn what on earth is causing the interference between what would seem two very different applications, especially given it's causing 1Password to report that it doesn't have a vault!
I'm just glad you decided to try uninstalling the application, at a guess just to see if it was the cause or not.

Hey,
Many times it's good to discuss things and being a customer service rep. For many years past but I know that there is always a solution and your right finding or remembering about that App and disengaging / removing it was quick and painless.
I'd like to hear about developments regarding this matter. Is there away to keep me informed?
Thanks to all!
Damian

Just a notation from me. I use knock on my Mac and the wife on hers with no issues. I have used it for at least a year or is it two now. I forget, well since they debuted.
Currently using it on 10.10.4 (hers) r/ MacBook Pro w/ iPhone 6 w/ watch app for Knock & 10.11 beta 6 (mine) r/ MacBook Pro w/ iPhone 6 w/ watch app for Knock.
I have never seen the issue you describe and I just performed a clean start (of 1Password) on the wife' s machine today. One thing to mention, I find it often necessary to restart the Mac for good measure to allow Knock to settle in before it works properly / makes a good neighbor so to speak. Heck I have even been know to do so twice on occasion.
If you have not tried that I would suggest maybe reinstalling it. Restarting once or twice and the starting 1Password and Knock and see how you fair.
By no means, am I saying you don't have an issue. But I am saying it could be a machine incompatibility w/ the Knock app. They have a compatibility page here http://help.knocktounlock.com/customer/portal/topics/590191-compatibility/articles As well as more FAQ's to choose from. They have always been super fast to respond to my queries.
Best of Luck

@damiank: I don't think there is anything we can do on our end to address issues with Knock, but since thightower has been using it himself alongside 1Password it sounds like there may not be a compatibility problem in the first place, but rather something particular to your system.
Now, I don't personally have any experience with Knock, but based on the descriptions here the problems sound very similar to those I have had with other apps and Yosemite in general. I suspect a reinstall and reboot might help immensely. Please let us know what you find! :)

I don't know if you had your Knock issues resolved?
Tonight, I moved back to TokenLock. I have been using them both (TokenLock and Knock) interchangeably for years depending on my needs. Truth be told I usually put the wife on Knock for its ease of setup and use, I then tend to love TokenLock as its more for it high customization / feature base.
ToKenLock supports running scripts etc and may or may not be an option for you. Its developer does notate some potential issues in his FAQ section specifically with Yosemite, but that was during its beta phase.
I just tried it with El Capitan, and its working well for me. It may also be an option for you. It however has a lot of configuration settings. You may get overwhelmed when first viewing them. Jeremy L. the developer is really great at responding to questions. If you decided you wanted to try it, and ran into issues, I know he would help.
As I notated above I highly recommend a reboot of the Mac and the Phone, after the initial pairing and installation of the Mac app. Or you could see some weird issues. Based upon my own personal experience!
TokenLock on the Mac App Store : https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tokenlock/id402433482?mt=12
Jeremy is also a user of 1Password and has on occasion posted here. So I can say almost without a doubt, he would help with issues regarding 1Password (that is if you experienced any with it.).
The app has a welcome tutorial, when first opening. If you want to view the video without downloading it, you can do so here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQldeLdnrqw

@thightower: Very cool! Thanks for sharing that.
Personally, I am struggling with Bluetooth on Yosemite this week (it is now inoperable), and haven't had time for my usual reboot. I really hope that 10.11 brings some serious reliability improvements. :dizzy:
