Can you provide a screen shot please (making sure it doesn't show any confidential information)? (You can add a screenshot to your post by clicking on the last of the icons displayed above the place where you type your post.)
In addition please tell us what version of 1P for Mac you are using.

I have a 3 month old mac book pro not sure beyond that ? ok so this is even weirder when O open the 1password where I can access all my passwords but have no toolbar and no access to any settings for its program I tried to Skitch it to screen shot and it vanished it would not be captured?? this screen behind it was in the screenshot only. This stinks . Very frustrating

I just wonder whether you might have 1Password running in full screen mode. When displaying your main 1P window try either:
- pressing esc twice; or
- moving your cursor to the top of the screen until the menu bar appears and then clicking on the green button to the left of the menu bar.

It seems Stephen has read my mind, as I was about to ask if you were in full screen mode before I read his reply! If you're in full screen mode, the 1Password app would cover everything else on your screen, so that might explain why you don't see the menu bar at the top of the screen. In that case (and as Stephen mentioned), moving your mouse to the top of the screen should reveal the menu bar. From there, you can go to the 1Password menu (right next to the menu) and choose Preferences.
Alternately, when the main 1Password app is open, you can use the
⌘,
keyboard shortcut (Command+comma) to open the Preferences window. From there, the option to change the master password is on the Security tab.If what you're seeing doesn't seem to match our suggestions at all, is it possible you're opening the 1Password extension from your browser toolbar, or 1Password mini from the Mac menu bar? If so, that explains the confusion - you'll need to open the main 1Password app in order to view the full Preferences window, so make sure you're opening that (it should be in the Applications folder on your Mac).
Let us know how it goes, thanks!
