Data in Primary vault is different from the data you selected in iCloud
I have 1Password on my iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPad and I am trying to get them all to sync with iCloud. My original account is on the IMac so I unchecked WiFi Sync and went to Sync with iCloud but I'm getting a warning that I have a Vault already in iCloud that was last modified on September 21, 2014. If I merge I risk corrupting the "Primary" (Current Vault) last modified on August 6, 2015. I've done all the checks on ensuring I am using the most current OS and iOS versions, iCloud enabled, et.
1Password Version: 5.3
Extension Version: 4.4.2
OS Version: OS X 10.10.4
Sync Type: ICloud

Hi @JBev,
It sounds like you already have some 1Password data in iCloud, so you're being asked to merge that with the 1Password data on your iMac. Have you previously used iCloud sync from one of your Macs or iOS devices? Merging basically looks for new data in a vault and adds it to the other. Any items that match in both vaults are left alone, so you shouldn't get any duplicates, and should simply end up with all the latest data in both places (iMac and iCloud).
Before continuing, it's a good idea to make a new backup of your latest 1Password data, just as a precaution. In the 1Password app on each Mac, simply go to File > Backup. That will open the Backup preferences and show all your backups, including the new one you just made. If you have any data in 1Password on your iOS devices that you don't already have on your Macs, you can backup the iOS data by following the steps in this knowledgebase article.
Once you're ready, you have a choice of how to continue. If you don't need the 1Password data that is currently in iCloud (i.e. you have all your data in 1Password on your Macs and/or iOS devices), you can delete that data from iCloud before you start syncing. To do that, open 1Password on either Mac and go to Help > Troubleshooting > Reset iCloud Data. Once you've done that, go ahead and enable iCloud sync. On your other Mac and iOS devices, when you enable iCloud sync, you'll likely be asked to merge the data, which is fine.
On the other hand, if you need the 1Password data that is currently in iCloud (i.e. you already enabled iCloud sync on your other Mac or an iOS device, or iCloud has 1Password data that you don't have anywhere else and need to keep it), then you simply need to choose to merge the data. As I mentioned above, merging should be fine, but if something goes wrong, you can easily restore from a backup.
Does that help? Please let us know how it goes and if you have any questions about that. Thanks!

Thank you Drew. Your directions worked perfectly. I reset the iCloud data to get rid of the old vault data, enabled iCloud sync and that got my iMac and MacBook back on the same page. Turns out the 1Password app on the iPad was still looking for the old data so I deleted it and downloaded a new app, went through setup to sync with iCloud, and now all four instances of 1Password are working for the first time. Plus, now I know why so next time, if there is one, I'll have a clue as to how to troubleshoot the problem. Thank you so much.

Excellent! Thanks for the update. On behalf of Drew, you are most welcome! And remember: you never have to troubleshoot alone. We're here if you need us! :)
