    Hi @Lemur58,

I'm sorry you're unable to download the extension in Firefox!

It seems to be working correctly for me when I download the extension in the same version of Firefox. Are you using any antivirus or other security software on your Mac that might be interfering with that, or do you have other extensions installed in Firefox which could be blocking that?

Please also make sure you're trying to install the extension from the following link in Firefox: https://agilebits.com/onepassword/extensions

When you click the big green "Install" button, it should take you to a page that says "Your download will begin automatically within a few seconds." There should also be a link to download it from an alternate location in case there's a problem. Do you see that page when you try to download the extension? If so, please click on the alternate download link to see if that helps.

If you don't see that page, or if the alternate download link gives the same error message, you can try downloading the Firefox extension from a different browser and then install it in Firefox:

    • Open the 1Password extension download site in Safari.
    • Click the link for Show all extensions.
    • Click the Install button for Firefox in order to download the extension.
    • Find the downloaded extension in your Downloads folder and drag it into a Firefox window.
    • Firefox should ask if you want to install the extension - click Install Now.

If you have trouble dragging the extension into a Firefox window, you can double-click the .xpi file that you downloaded. It should give you the option to Choose Application, and when you click that, a dialog will open so you can pick Firefox (if Firefox is grayed out, change the "Enable" popup menu to All Applications, and then you'll be able to choose Firefox).

Does that help? Let us know how it goes, thanks!

Drew, I used Safari to download as you stated and added the extension into Firefox. It worked, thank you.

I had the same problem and got it to work in Firefox browser but it doesn't seem to be recognized in the 1Password main program on my Mac. How do I tell a certain login to launch in Firefox and not Safari. Help!

Your login items will always launch in your system default browser (as set in System Preferences > General > Default web browser).

    Hi @mtgavin55,

Stephen_C is correct here. Whenever you want 1Password to fill a login in a browser other than your default browser, you'll need to launch that browser (for instance, Firefox) and then select the desired login item from either the 1Password extension button near the address bar in the browser, or the 1Password Mini icon in the menu bar.
